UWEA summarizes 2025 results at a thematic press conference
On 19 December 2025, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association held its annual press conference at Interfax-Ukraine titled “Wind & Storage in 2025: A Year of New Decisions, Challenges, and Growth”, reviewing the performance of Ukraine’s renewable energy sector over the past year.
The key message was clear: for the industry, 2025 was not only about resilience, but also about a gradual and tangible return to development.
Opening the discussion, Andrii Konechenkov, Chairman of the UWEA Board, highlighted the sector’s shift from a survival mindset toward recovery. According to him, renewables, and wind energy in particular, remain critical to building a resilient and energy-independent Ukraine.
The practical dimension of this recovery was addressed by Ivan Bondarchuk, Partner at LCF Law Group, Head of the Energy Practice, and Deputy Chairman of the UWEA Board. He emphasized that 2025 marked a renewed phase of project development and construction. At the same time, he noted that investors are prepared to move forward only in an environment with clear and predictable regulatory rules.
Among the market’s key expectations are improvements to auction mechanisms, revision of price caps, accelerated grid connection procedures, and the implementation of RED III, including the designation of renewable energy acceleration areas.
These points were further elaborated by Ivan in a separate article following the press conference. Read here:
