Maksym Sheverdin and Anastasia Didenko participated in X Conference on Criminal Law and Process.
On October 19, 2023, the Ukrainian Bar Association held the X Conference on Criminal Law and Process.
Maksym Sheverdin, Partner, Head of WCC at LCF Law Group, moderated the first session, which was devoted to trends in criminal law.
In particular, the participants discussed:
– The russian element in criminal proceedings;
– Tools used under the guise of martial law;
– Pressure on lawyers and judges. How to respond to it?
– Security guarantees for prosecutors. Identification of lawyers with toxic clients.
The conference was also attended by Anastasia Didenko, Senior Associate at LCF Law Group. She spoke at the final panel about conflict-related sexual violence:
– The prohibition of sexual violence in international humanitarian law;
– Why sexual violence during war is widespread;
– Types of sexual violence;
– Investigation issues and problems of lawyers in collecting evidence;
– Necessary changes in legislation.
