Ivan Bondarchuk Participates in the Ukraine Recovery & Reconstruction Leadership Programme by John Smith Trust
Ivan Bondarchuk, Partner, Head of Energy & Projects practice at LCF Law Group, participated in the Ukraine Recovery & Reconstruction Leadership Programme, an international initiative dedicated to Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.
The John Smith Trust delivers the programme in partnership with the Scottish Government. Ivan Bondarchuk was one of five Ukrainian representatives selected to join leading professionals engaged in recovery efforts at the national and regional levels.
The programme addressed sustainable development, energy transition, and the implementation of green technologies. It combined strategic expertise with analysis of proven solutions from European jurisdictions that can be scaled to meet Ukraine’s needs.
Participants collaborated with experts from the BBC and the University of St Andrews, met with government officials and industry leaders, including the First Minister of the Scottish Government, John Swinney, and visited renewable and hydrogen energy facilities in Fife, Aberdeen, and the Orkney Islands.
The initiative’s framework emphasized decentralized generation models, green hydrogen development, and the transformation of regional energy infrastructure. These approaches show how collaboration among public policy, business, and local communities can deliver resilient, long-term solutions.
