Olena Volianska participated in the First National Forum on Bankruptcy
On June 2, Olena Volianska, Partner at LCF Law Group, Head of Insolvency and Restructuring, spoke and moderated the First National Forum on Bankruptcy and Insolvency: Challenges of War.
The event is organized by the Ukrainian National Insolvency Trustee Association in cooperation with the EU Project Pravo-Justice. The forum will be attended by people’s deputies, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, judges of the Commercial Court of Cassation and the HACC, attorneys and insolvency practitioners, and business representatives.
The participants discussed the following topics:
– State regulation and support of the State under martial law;
– Business in times of war: preservation, recovery, responsibility;
– Judicial bankruptcy procedures in wartime. Current judicial practice;
– Challenges of war: banking sector functioning, moratoriums, sanctions and
nationalization.
In addition to the discussion panels, the Forum included a charity auction to support insolvency practitioners currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
LCF Law Group provided a lot for the auction – the book “The Great President of a Small Country” personally signed by Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania in 2009-2019. This book was published in 2021 with the assistance of LCF Law Group.
A book with the personal signature of Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania in 2009-2019, was purchased for UAH 18,000.
The funds raised during the auction were donated to the needs of insolvency practitioners currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A lottery was also held during the forum. The main prize was a flag with personal signatures of insolvency practitioners from the front line.
Olena Volianska won the lot and immediately handed it over to UNITA, noting that such a thing cannot belong to just one person, it must become a relic of the entire community.
