On October 6, the Ukrainian Bar Association held the XVI Annual Corporate Law Forum.
Sergiy Benedysyuk, Partner, Head of Corporate, M&A, and Antitrust at LCF Law Group, moderated the final session dedicated to investment attractiveness. Representatives of state authorities and the investment market of Ukraine also joined the discussion.
The following issues were in focus:
– The role of private investments in rebuilding the country;
– Insurance of military and political risks for investors and international support programs for business;
– Industries for private investments, key risks, and ways to minimize them;
– Investment nanny law, recent changes, overview of key features of its application.
“Despite the war, Ukraine is still interesting for investors. We need to consider attracting investments now if we want the economy not to collapse after the victory on the battlefield. It requires both steps by the government, in particular, to ease bureaucratic processes and strengthen the protection of investors’ rights (these issues are more relevant than ever), and the introduction of business instruments, particularly war risk insurance,” summarized Sergiy.
