VIII Judicial Forum “TRIAS POLITICA: Judiciary in the system of state power”

On October, 3-4 in Hilton Kyiv Hotel the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) in cooperation with the Council of Europe Project “Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Ukraine” held the VIII Judicial Forum “TRIAS POLITICA: Judiciary in the system of state power”.  The program coordinator of the event is Anna Ogrenchuk, a member of the Legal Reform Commission under the President of Ukraine, Chair of the UBA Procedural Law Committee, Managing Partner of the LCF Law Group. LCF Law Group also acted as a General Partner of the Forum.

The main goal of the event was to discuss topical issues related to the functioning of the judicial system in Ukraine with the representatives of judicial institutions, international and national experts. Among the participants of the forum were judges of the the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court of Ukraine, representatives of the Supreme Council of Justice,  the Supreme Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, judges and practicing lawyers, international experts, representatives of the Council of Europe, and the journalists. In gereral, 62 speakers and more than 350 participants attended the event.

“When we first started the forum in 2012, the main goal was bringing together judges, advocates and prosecutors to discuss the topical issues related to the functioning of the judicial system in Ukraine. Today after 5 years have passed, we see the positive result. That’s why this year we would like to highlight the idea of necessity of effective interaction between of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of power” – commented Anna Ogrenchuk.
