The UBA Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law meeting
Today the activity of investigating judges attracts the attention not only of specialists in the area of criminal law and procedure but also a wide audience.
On October 23, 2020, our partner Maksym Sheverdin took part as a moderator of the UBA Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law meeting. The event was devoted to the problematic issues of judicial control during the pre-trial investigation.
The discussion was attended by Vira Mykhaylenko, judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine; Volodymyr Hrebenyuk, judge of the Podilsky District Court of Kyiv; Denys Shkarovsky, counsel at VB PARTNERS; Yevhen Solodko, chairman of the UBA Committee on Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law, and Yevhen Krapivin, partner
at Sayenko Kharenko law firm, expert of the Law Enforcement Reform group.
The participants discussed the lawfulness and expedience in the decisions of investigating judges and the adversarial principle in the criminal process.
