One year after adoption of the Bankruptcy Code of Ukraine

On October 21, 2020, the 6th Forum on Bankruptcy Procedures took place in Kyiv. It was dedicated to the first anniversary of the adoption of the Bankruptcy Code of Ukraine and gathered together all specialists in this sphere – advocates, insolvency practitioners, judges, and experts.

Our partner Olena Volianska, head of bankruptcy and restructuring, and insolvency practitioner, took part in the discussion on the court practice related to the new Bankruptcy Code.

Olena delivered a speech “Reduced terms of property disposal (170 days): how did it work?”, during which she analyzed the case law on the grounds for extending the terms of the disposal of the debtor’s property due to the quarantine restrictions. Olena also talked about the legal conflicts, which may arise in bankruptcy procedures of state-owned enterprises, and analyzed the court practice related to the rights of the mortgage creditors.

To find out more about the matter you can in Olena’s presentation, which is presented in Ukrainian:

Many thanks to all colleagues and organizers for a productive discussion!
