LCF Law Group at the 7th International Judicial Forum 2019

On June 12-13 2019, the 7th International Judicial Forum was held in Kyiv. The forum is annually organized by Yuridicheskaya Practika Publishing. LCF Law Group acted as the General Partner of the forum.

Partners and experts of LCF Law Group participated in the forum. In particular, Managing Partner Anna Ogrenchuk moderated the session “Judicial RE:Form – assessment of key changes and projection into the future”. Judges, prosecutors, attorneys and representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine took part in the session. They presented their opinions about current state of judicial reform and discussed perspectives for the future. Commenting on the speeches of the participants, Anna Ogrenchuk noted: “It is a great pleasure to hear today a consolidated view of all representatives of the legal profession about the next steps in development of an effective judicial system. One of the key points, which need to be indicated – the finality of permanent institutional changes and moving on to real actions”.

Artem Stoyanov, Senior Partner, moderated the session “Oblico morale: perspectives for creating a unified ethical standards for the justice”. Participants of the session – judges, prosecutors and lawyers concurred in the opinion that creation and unification of the common ethical legal norms is needed.

Olena Volyanska, Partner and Head of Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice, delivered a presentation at the session “Legal protection of the property rights and credit disputes”. Olena’s speech was dedicated to protecting the rights of creditors in bankruptcy procedures, case-law of the Supreme Court and expectations from the new Code of Bankruptcy. “Compared with current legislation, the new Code has established additional guarantees of the rights of secured creditors”, – said Elena.

Julia Atamanova, Counsel and Head of International Arbitration Practice, moderated the session “International disputes and arbitration”. In the session current court practice of the Civil Court of Cassation re. international commercial arbitration is considered;  tendencies of recognition and enforcement of arbitration decisions, as well issues of third-party funding and diversity in international arbitration were discussed.

The 7th International Judicial Forum 2019 became the platform for discussing current trends, exchanging opinions and matching up the views of new trends and challenges for the Ukrainian judicial system in a future.
